The Alpena boys soccer team played the Titans to a 1-1 tie Thursday, marking the first time in program history it hasn’t lost to West. Austin Townsend’s goal with 18 minutes left tied the game and was Alpena’s only score. Gabe Glawe earned the assist. Both teams played a scoreless first half and Alpena got a strong performance from keeper Mike Herrmann. Alpena improves to 6-3-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in Big North Conference play.

Alpena finished with a team score of 456.

Leading the team with a score of 104 was Senior Stephanie Nowland. Rounding out the top four were freshman Jami Richards and Junior Sydney Silver, who both shot 110, and senior Avery Herman who carded a 132.

Alpena’s posted a team score of 595. Sophomore Katie Bushey led Alpena with a score of 133.
