ALPENA — Alpena-area police urge anyone victimized by Mio man Richard Walser, 82, to report their abuse following last week’s arrest of Walser on sexual assault charges.

Police investigated Walser last year after an alleged sexual assault, as reported to police by the Northern Michigan Child Advocacy Center.

After his arrest related to that accusation, a second person told police about alleged abuse by Walser, sparking another investigation and his re-arrest on Sept. 22.

Detectives from the Michigan State Police-Alpena Post are conducting a third investigation regarding another alleged sexual assault.

Police ask any other survivors of sexual assault by Walser to contact the Alpena Post at 989-354-4101.
