Firefighters showed up at City Hall in Alpena when they received an emergency alert around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A faulty fire alarm system triggered the alert, Alpena Fire Chief Bill Forbush said.

Alpena Fire Department firefighters checked the building and cleared the scene.
