Bye, Mahaz chosen for AHS Hall of Fame

ALPENA ― The names of two Alpena High School alum will soon join those of other distinguished graduates recognized on the Alpena Wildcat Hall of Fame, Alpena Public Schools announced today.

A committee chose Steven Bye, class of 1968, and Michael Mahaz, class of 1994, for induction to the Hall of Fame this fall.

Bye has earned numerous honors as an educator, coach, artist, and author. Artwork he produced has sold internationally and been featured in newspapers and magazines, with some of his work recently exhibited at the Besser Museum in Alpena, APS reported.

Mahaz serves as vice president of medical devices and consumer health for an international business, leading a division that generates $1.2 billion in annual revenue. He participates in numerous charities in the Tampa area.

Bye and Mahaz will be inducted to the Hall of Fame on September 30, during AHS homecoming festivities.
