Alpena County Library director search under way
The Alpena County Library has officially begun the search for a new library director. Resumes will be collected until Sept. 30. A hiring committee, composed of a selection of community members, library staff, a former Alpena library director, and two members of the board of trustees, will narrow down the list of candidates to those qualified to move further through the process.
Qualifications for the position include a master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences, four to five years of library management experience, and a level one professional permanent certificate as determined by guidelines from the Library of Michigan. All interviews will be held in a public meeting space and will be posted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. The public can attend any of the candidate interviews.
