News Photos by Michael Gonzalez Students from Alpena Community College wrap up their Utility Arborist training on Thursday afternoon by demonstrating their newly learned abilities at their outdoor lab. Three students — Chance Wheaton, Ryan Skowronek, and Patrick Belanger — graduated from the program. Multiple tree industry representatives showed up to observe the showcase. Showcased abilities included properly taking down a tree with a chainsaw, securely climbing a tree, and observing and announcing safety hazards around the students’ environment to attendees.
