Road work begins Thursday
The Alpena County Road Commission announced Tuesday that work begins Thursday on maintenance sealcoating of several existing paved roads in Alpena County.
Sealcoating is the process of applying emulsified asphalt on an existing paved surface then covered with crushed stone.
This year the Road Commission anticipates the completion of approximately 13 miles of sealcoating on the primary road system.
The roads included in this year’s program are Werth Road, Hubbard Lake Road to Mud Creek; Nicholson Hill Road, Wolf Creek Road to Spruce Road.
