Police: Onaway man nabbed with drugs during drunk driving stop
ONAWAY — Police arrested Onaway man Jess Allen Nash, 46, after police said they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle last week.
Nash on June 26 caught the attention of a Michigan State Police-Alpena Post trooper when Nash turned off his headlights and turned onto M-33 Highway without using a turn signal, according to police.
The trooper lost sight of Nash’s vehicle until the truck’s lights reappeared behind him on M-33. The truck then turned onto 3-Mile Highway.
The trooper stopped Nash on Pickett Road in Allis Township and arrested Nash, who appeared intoxicated. During a search of Nash’s vehicle, police found “numerous narcotics” and drug-related tools, the State Police said in a news release.
Nash was charged with delivery or manufacturing of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics and analogues, and driving while visibly impaired and was assigned a $500,000 cash or surety bond.
