ALPENA — Deputy Cash Kroll has been named Alpena County Undersheriff, the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

Kroll, a 2001 graduate of Posen High School, begins his new role immediately, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Kroll transitioned to a position with the Alpena County’s Sheriff’s Office’s road patrol in 2008. Prior to that, he was sworn in as a deputy for the Sheriff’s Office in 2007.

According to the press release, Kroll has served in many roles during his career in law enforcement, including marine/off-road vehicle/snowmobile deputy, field training officer, union president/vice president/secretary and Sexual Assault Response Team Sheriff’s Office representative.
