HUBBARD LAKE — Alcona County boaters will temporarily lose access to the East Bay Hubbard lake boating access site beginning Monday, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced today.

The DNR plans to replace deteriorated concrete ramp planks at the site to help boats enter and exit the water more safely, the agency said in a news release.

Construction crew members should complete the work by July 11, although they will try to finish sooner to open the access site to 4th of July visitors, the DNR said.

During the closure, boaters can access the lake via the North End Park boat launch, maintained by Caledonia Township, and the South Bay boating access site, managed by Harrisville State Park.
