ALPENA — Two candidates survived a first round of interviews to fill the position of superintendent for Alpena-Montmorency-Alcona Educational Service District and will return for second interviews, the district announced today.
The district must choose a new administrator to replace retiring superintendent Scott Reynolds.
Justin Gluesing, Crawford-AuSable School District superintendent, and Dan O’Connor, Alcona Community Schools superintendent, and three other candidates appeared for interviews at special AMA ESD Board of Education meetings this week.
Gluesing and O’Connor will again appear before the board for separate interviews on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the AMA ESD building. The public may attend the interviews.
Gluesing filled several administrative roles for Alpena Public Schools for 15 years before taking a position with the Crawford-AuSable School District in 2019.
