HILLMAN — Hillman Community Schools on Thursday received a vote of support for an upcoming bond proposal in the form of a letter from Senator Jim Stamas, R-Midland.
The bond proposal, which will appear on ballots in the May 3rd election, would provide what Stamas called necessary improvements to technology and “a cleaner, safer, healthier learning environment” for area children.
If approved, the proposal would allow a $22.1 million bond sale to cover the cost of school district building and infrastructure improvements.
Taxpayers would repay the bonds over the next 30 years through an estimated 3.38-mill tax that would cost the owner of a $100,000 house about $169 a year.
