ALPENA — Parents, extended family, teachers, school staff, and coaches are invited to submit the name of a student of any age for recognition by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

During Student Recognition Week, celebrated this week in Michigan, Whitmer seeks nominations of students who have demonstrated exceptional skills, leadership abilities, or passionate community involvement.

Those interested in nominating a student, including a description of accomplishments, achievements, or other notable qualities, can do so at michigan.gov/outstandingstudent through Sunday.

Outstanding Michigan students will be recognized by Governor Whitmer. A news release from the governor’s office did not specify whether all nominated students will be honored or in what way the governor will recognize them.
