Habitat ReStore welcomes new manager

Jacquelyn Costello is the new Habitat ReStore manager. She started Monday and will take over for Les Ellerhorst, who is retiring.

ALPENA — A smiling new face will greet customers at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Alpena.

Jacquelyn Costello took over Monday as ReStore manager, replacing Les Ellerhorst, who is retiring.

Costello has both retail and Habitat experience, and is excited about her new role at the home improvement and resale store.

“I had worked with Habitat in the U.P. a couple of years ago when I was in AmeriCorps,” she explained. “So I spent two months there building houses. And we moved to this area about a year ago,” she added about herself and her fiance.

They had been living in New Orleans and wanted a change, so they came up north. Her fiance is Bryant Zitlau, a videographer/editor at Irving Entertainment in Alpena.

She worked as a manager at Kay Jewelers.

“My degree is in jewelry design and also in business,” she said. “I wanted to get back into nonprofit.”

Costello said to “get ready for some changes” at the ReStore.
