The Alpena County Road Commission announced Wednesday that work will resume on the Bagley Street Bridge on April 18, weather permitting.
Beginning April 18 the bridge will close to all traffic. A detour route has been established utilizing M-32, Ripley Boulevard, 11th Avenue, Chisholm Street, and Long Rapids Road.
Local residents are encouraged to seek alternate routes that may better suit their needs.
Bagley Street will be closed from the Alpena County Road Commission driveway to the Word of Life Baptist Church. Access to Burkholder Drive will be maintained at all times.
Additionally, the traffic control signal located at the intersection of Long Rapids Road/Bagley Street/Genschaw Rd will be placed in flash mode allowing for more efficient travel throughout the detour route for the duration of the closure.
This closure is expected to last approximately six weeks.
