Report tagged walleye to DNR
Anglers finding a walleye bearing a metal jaw tag on their hook should report the find to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the DNR said on Wednesday.
After a release this week of 3,000 tagged walleye into Lake Huron, the DNR hopes Michiganders will help them track the fish to monitor the health of the population.
Anyone catching a tagged fish is asked to tell the DNR about the catch at Michigan.gov/EyesInTheField. About 10% of the tags include a $100 reward for reporting.
