Power line failure downs computers in courthouse

ALPENA – The Alpena County Courthouse shifted to generator power when an underground feed failed on Wednesday morning.
Alpena Power Company officials did not know what caused the failure, a representative said.
The failure impacted only the courthouse, where employees were told a repair might take several hours.
The courthouse remained open but had limited capacity to serve residents, as the reduced power source left some computers inoperable while others flickered in and out, according to an Alpena County Clerk’s Office representative.
