Officials from Ella White Elementary School contacted the Alpena Police Department which dispatched an officer to the building to maintain a presence through Wednesday dismissal as a precaution.

During the course of the school day, school staff was alerted to a custodial dispute involving a family whose students attend Ella White, officials said, but no activity took place at Ella White that required police intervention.
