ALPENA -- No students were injured when an Alpena Public Schools bus clipped a car stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of West Washington Avenue and North Franklin Street in Alpena during the Tuesday morning bus run, the school district said in a news release early Tuesday afternoon.

According to APS, the bus driver immediately checked his riders for injuries and found none, nor was either driver hurt.

The bus was not damaged in the incident and will not require inspection, according to Lee Fitzpatrick, APS director of communications. Police did not issue a ticket to either driver, Fitzpatrick said.
