ALPENA — The first-ever Downtown Alpena Restaurant Week kicked off this weekend and runs through Saturday. Thirteen downtown restaurants, cafes, and eateries will be offering special promotions, deals, and feature menus to encourage people to dine out, visit their favorite stops, and try something new.

“Restaurant Week is a celebration of the growing culinary scene here in Downtown Alpena,” said Alpena Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Anne Gentry. “During Restaurant Week, we hope people will get out and try some new places in Downtown Alpena and show our local restaurants their support.”

Pick up a “Downtown Alpena Restaurant Week Passport” at any of the participating locations, and when you dine out during the week, ask your server to mark it next to their restaurant name. At the end of the week, drop off your passport at Rusty Petunias Marketplace at 123 W. Chisholm St. The drawings for three $100 winners of Downtown Dollars will take place on Monday.
