Free KN95 masks available from health officials

ALPENA ― Residents can pick up free KN95 masks at local health department offices, District Health Department No. 4 officials announced on Monday.
Interested residents can collect one pack of five masks per person Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in January that N95 and KN95 masks offer more protection than other kinds of masks.
District health officials will provide COVID-19 vaccinations and tests at the Alpena County Fairgrounds on Tuesdays in February from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at St. Francis of Assisi in Lewiston from 1 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, offering all three brands of vaccine for people 12 and older.
Tests will also be offered at Thunder Bay Junior High School on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
