Alpena students take film fest honors

ALPENA Young Alpena filmmakers in the making took top honors in the student division at the Thunder Bay International Film Festival, Alpena Public Schools officials announced on Friday.

Alpena High School students claimed the top three spots in the 2022 competition, under the theme of “Science in the Sanctuary.”

Will Shultz and Nicholas Lusardi took home the first-place prize. Second place went to Brody Thompson, Ian Lightfoot, and Hally Murphy. Easton Srebnik, Trevor Kasubowski, and Tucker Bright captured third place with their film.

The two-week festival, which concluded Feb. 6, this year celebrated its 10th anniversary.
