Alpena High honors new Wall of Fame class; honors Oxford community

News Photo by Jonny Zawacki The Alpena High School Athletic Wall of Fame inducted a new class of athletes on Friday. Pictured left to right are: Josh Sylvester, Tyler Pintar, Bill Romstadt, Jordan Ferguson, and Ami Milligan. Sylvester was a four-year letterman for Alpena’s hockey team and earned numerous accolades including all-conference, team and all-state honors. He was also a member of Alpena’s Final Four during the 1996-97 season. Pintar earned numerous honors in basketball and helped Alpena to a pair of Big North Conference titles. He also became just the third player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Milligan earned a slew of honors in volleyball as a Wildcat and went on to become a record-setter at Albion College, where she became the all-time assist leader. Ferguson set Alpena’s single-season rushing record and earned team and all-conference honors before going on to play at Michigan Tech University. Romstadt coached in Alpena for many years and also spent 50 years as an umpire and referee for baseball and basketball.
