ALPENA — Long-time Alpena County Clerk Bonnie Friedrichs on Thursday told county officials she will step away from her position on March 31.
Calling her years in the clerk's office a "grand adventure," Friedrichs announced her retirement and recommended clerk's office employee Keri Bartrand as successor in the clerk role.
Friedrichs has worked in the Clerk’s office since 1979 and was appointed County Clerk in 2000.
