ALPENA — Bird fanciers can flit over to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ website to join a virtual winter bird-feeding class, to be held 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 22.

Class attendees will learn how to attract and feed the species most likely to visit their yards, how to clean feeders, and how to get involved in community birding events.

Registrants will pay a $15 registration fee.

To register, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the “Purchase a license” button. After following sign-in instructions, find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab.
