ALPENA — Northeast Michigan residents can more readily access medical care with the opening of MyMichigan Urgent Care Alpena, parent company MyMichigan Health announced on Friday.

A medical team at the center, located at 393 Long Rapids Road, offers care for colds, sprains, minor burns or fractures, and other urgent but non-emergency medical needs.

MyMichigan Medical Center administrators anticipate that the opening of the urgent care center, which will offer weekend hours, will shorten wait times at the hospital by reducing the number of non-critical patients seen in the emergency room.
