Police arrest two with alleged hate group ties

Tiffany Williams and John Clayton appear in these photos provided by the Michigan State Police.

Two people allegedly connected with a federally classified hate group are behind bars in Alpena following a Huron Undercover Narcotics Team investigation, police said on Friday.

Police arrested Tiffany Williams, 34, currently of Alpena and formerly of Tennessee, and John Clayton, 33, of Tennessee, on Monday, charging them with manufacturing marijuana with the intent to distribute, along with other charges.

Police believe the pair intended to send marijauna plants or the proceeds from their sale to Tennessee to support a hate group to which police say they have tied Williams and Clayton, Brotherhood Forever, which police say is closely associated with the Aryan Nation.

Williams and Clayton are held in the Alpena County Jail, with bonds set at $100,000.
