KAPUT organizes doughnut and hot cocoa day at Alpena High School

News Photo by Barbara Woodham Kids and Parents United Together (KAPUT) organized a schoolwide doughnut and hot cocoa day for the AHS students at Alpena High School on Monday morning. The event was funded with grants from the Alpena County Youth and Recreation Millage.This event took place the original event last week was postponed because of threats that forced the school to close. AHS staff and Alpena Public School officials served students, as well as volunteers from all branches of local law enforcement. There were prize donations from a number of local businesses to be raffled off to students. “In what has been a challenging year for both students and staff, we are continually amazed and grateful for the many ways that our community steps up to show their love and support for our kids,” said Lee Fitzpatrick, Communications Director for Alpena Public Schools.
