ALPENA -- Art is alive and well in Alpena, on the third floor of the Center Building downtown.
Art in the Loft presents "Winterview 2021," featuring over 30 local artists, just in time for Christmas shopping.
The show opened Friday, and will be open through Christmas Eve.
A variety of media are represented, from painting to photography to pottery to jewelry and more.
"We decided to not hold an in-person artist reception, which typically would bring in about 100 people, to open up the event," said Art in the Loft Executive Director Justin Christensen-Cooper. "Instead, we just really want people to come during our gallery times and take it in, and see all of our artists."
A wide variety of artists are showing and selling at "Winterview."
"People will find their favorites," he said. "Longstanding artists that have been up here since we've been around 20 years ago, but also, we have some new ones."
He added that any artist that was juried into the prior "Emerald" show has the option of showing in the following "Winterview" show.
"So, we gained three or four artists that way, that had never displayed up here before," he said.
He said there is no theme for "Winterview," but there is something for everyone, in every price range.
"And it's all locally made," Christensen-Cooper said. "So, it's things you're just not going to find anywhere else."
The artists participating in "Winterview 2021" include: Sam Machulis, Kathy Bower, Kevin Gauthier, Cheryl Lemke, Chuck Schroeder, Sharon Wade, James Okasinski, Beverly Benson Wolf, Michael and Mieko Kahn, Rachel Goodstein, Hannah Harte, Janice Herring, Elissa Sweet, Jeannie Lamb, Beth Cox, Mary Lightner, Steve Petrides, Leland Dane, Peggy Little, Jerry Mills, Linda Beeman, Jeff Fairchild, Mitchel Dipzinski, Kim Kleber, and Eugene Cambre.
Art in the Loft is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
