Alpena man busted with cocaine

ALPENA – Police arrested a 62-year-old Alpena man on Sunday when he was busted with cocaine and charged with one count of delivery or manufacturing of a controlled substance from 50 to 449 grams.

At about 11 p.m. Sunday, the Michigan State Police pulled Steven Wyman over on M-32 near M-65 in Green Township. During a search of the vehicle, police discovered the cocaine in a gift bag behind the driver’s seat.

Inside the gift bag were approximately 13 smaller, prepackaged bags of the drug, with a total weight of just over 175 grams. Wyman also carried more than $600 cash in mostly small denominations. He was arrested and lodged in the Alpena County Jail.

Wyman’s bond was set at $100,000 and his next scheduled court appearance is 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12 in 88th District Court.
