Local government roundup: Alpena Municipal Council votes to approve 2021-19 resolution

ALPENA

At its regular meeting on Nov. 1, the Alpena Municipal Council….

∫ Voted to approve resolution 2021-19, which adopts the 2021 Alpena County Hazard Mitigation Plan.

∫ Voted to amend the fee schedule for ambulance rates, as presented, effective Nov. 2.

∫ Reappointed Elizabeth Littler and Vernie Nethercut to the Wildlife Sanctuary Board for a 3-year term expiring on Nov. 1, 2024.

∫ Mayor Matt Waligora reappointed Clayton VanWagoner to the Planning Commission for a 3-year term expiring on Nov. 1, 2024.

∫ Waligora appointed Jaclynn Krawczak and Carol Lund to the Compensation Committee for a 5-year term expiring on Nov. 1, 2026.

COUNTY

At its meeting on Nov.12 the Presque Isle County Board of Commissioners….

∫ Voted to approve a $121,388 allocation to District Health Department # 4 in 2022.

∫ Voted to approve a contract between Presque Isle County and the Presque Isle County Council on Aging specific to the Michigan Dept. of Transportation agreement and authorize the chair to sign.

∫ Voted to purchase an enclosed snowmobile trailer from Brandt’s Sport Center, Inc in the amount of $6,986.

∫ Voted to authorize the Northeast Michigan Council of Government to proceed in participating in a MI Materials Engagement Grant on behalf of the county.

∫ Voted to spend $720 with Benny’s Tire and Oil for new tires for the maintenance work truck.
