Courtesy Photo The Alpena Community College cross country program recently received commitments from a pair of Alpena High School runners, Jacob Kochanski and Hayden Allen. Kochanski formerly ran for ACC coach Mark Jacobs as a member of the Woods Track Club and Allen — a recent all-Big North Conference selection — will be the first second generation runner at ACC, following in the footsteps of his father, Tim. “Next year will most likely be an entirely new squad here at ACC. I can’t think of a better way to start than getting both Jacob and Hayden to commit. Both guys run with heart and running is a passion for them,” Jacobs said. “I have high expectations for both guys. They work hard, want to be pushed and are focused on improving. Both are also on the top 20 all-time list for 5K runners at Alpena High.
