A police officer inspects the scene where a motorcycle crash left one badly injured shortly after 6 p.m. on Bolton Road Monday in Alpena Township. The driver lost control after coming out of a curve, according to police. The motorcycle traveled on the shoulder for about 300 feet before colliding with a driveway causing the motorcycle to go airborne. The driver was entangled in the motorcycle as it flipped several times on the grass, police said. Responders transported the driver to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena with serious but non life threatening injuries. The driver was not wearing a helmet. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
