MUSKEGON — The Alpena Community College cross country finished its regular season on Saturday at the Jayhawk Invitational held at the Oakridge Golf Course in Muskegon. All seven Lumberjacks ran season bests as the team now readies for its regional meet to be held on Oct. 30.

“It was a very positive day for us,” ACC coach Mark Jacobs said. “It’s the time of the year when our guys are tired but keep pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone. We’ll train hard for another week and then taper the week before regionals. When we race next, we will run with fresh legs and fresh spirits. I absolutely love their willingness to work.”

John Siegert (Ludington) again led the Lumberjacks with a time of 28:54. Teddy Peters (Onaway) was next for the team, running a 30:55. Following Peters was Musa Kubbah (Liberia, Africa) 31:29, Connor Bagnell (Memphis) 31:54, Duncan Ross (Rogers City) 32:55, Runi Demirko (Istanbul, Turkey) 34:47 and Natanael Macean (Petit-Grove, Haiti) 41:14.
