Alpena volleyball hosts annual Pink Out game

Courtesy Photo On Oct. 4, an amazing group of volleyball athletes, coaches, parents, supporters, referees, and volunteers had a successful fundraiser with a competitive volleyball match, ending in a big win for Alpena varsity. The Alpena High volleyball freshmen, junior varsity and varsity hosted the teams from Sault Ste Marie with varsity winning the match in five games 3-2. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, a group of parents and friends hosted the annual Pink Out game and presented the collected donations of $1,433.31 to Friends Together. Team spirit, carnations to loved ones affected by a cancer diagnosis, bake sale, T-shirts, basket raffles, blanket raffle, fill the pink boot, and a 50/50 raffle, plus the winner donated the winnings back to the cause.
