Car collides with garbage truck in Alpena

ALPENA — Emergency crews from Alpena responded to a two-vehicle collision at about 4 p.m. today at the intersection of Lockwood Street and 11th Avenue.

The wreck happened in the high-traffic area of a detour through the city caused by the closure of the Bagley Street Bridge.

The crash involved a sedan, which ran into a garbage truck. The car received significant damage.

The driver of the truck seemed uninjured, but it was unclear whether the people in the car received any injuries.
