Motorcycle crashes into apple trees

ALPENA TOWNSHIP — A motorcyclist escaped serious injury when his motorcycle hit something in the road as he traveled south on Bolton Road in Alpena Township at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, police said. Striking the unknown object, the motorcyclist swerved and lost control, according to a witness, crossing the center line and landing in apple trees near the northbound lane. The driver received minor injuries but did not require transport to the hospital.
