ALPENA -- Hospital staff will reroute visitors and patients arriving at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena, the hospital announced today.

As part of its ongoing expansion project, the hospital has temporarily moved its registration area and lobby, cardiology and pulmonology waiting rooms, and lab department until the end of construction, projected for February.

Hospital staff and volunteers will meet patients and visitors who arrive at the hospital entrance during the day and assist them with check-in. In the evening, visitors can check in at a kiosk near the entrance. Once seated to await registration, visitors can see their spot in the registration line on a nearby monitor. After registration, visitors will follow bright signs to their destinations, the hospital said.
