POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County deputies respond to ORV injuries, drunk drivers, high winds, and wandering cows

Aug. 9
5:11 p.m. A welfare check was requested on a Montmorency Township resident; the subject was found to be fine and the deputy cleared without incident.
6:02 p.m. A Deputy picked up a Hillman Township male on a warrant; subject was lodged in Alpena County Jail. Officer cleared without incident.
6:49 p.m. A tree was blocking the road in Briley Township; Road Commission was notified.
8:19 p.m. Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident in Albert Township; all involved subjects were found to be fine and refused EMS services. One of the male subjects was arrested for OUID and lodged in Alpena County Jail. Officers cleared without incident.
Aug. 10
7:31 a.m. A tree covering the shoulder of Co Rd 624 just east of M 33 north was reported, the Road Commission was advised.
8:05 a.m. Cows crossing M32 near Hossler Rd in Briley Township were reported to the sheriff’s department, an officer was advised and en route. Upon his arrival the owner of the cattle called and advised he had taken care of the animals and they were no longer in the roadway.
Aug. 11
Between 6:36 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. the dispatch center received 109 calls directly related to high winds. Fire and EMS from Hillman, Atlanta, And Lewiston were dispatched to clear fallen trees and extinguish fires.
8:18 p.m. A deputy and Tri-Township EMS responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident in Avery Township. A 40 year-old-male was transported to the hospital.
10:43 p.m. Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Albert Township. A 46 year-old-female subject was arrested, and transported to Alpena County Jail where she was lodged.
Aug. 12
6:00 p.m. A Deputy responded to a vehicle/ deer accident in Albert township; the party involved was uninjured. Dispatch and an officer took the report.
Aug. 13
1:02 a.m. Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Briley Township; it was a verbal dispute, parties separated for the night. Deputies cleared without incident.
2:32 p.m. 2 911 calls were received by dispatch referencing a transformer that had blown, and was smoking. Hillman Fire Department responded to the scene.
3:18 p.m. A welfare check request was called in to MCSO; a deputy responded and located the subject she was found to be fine.
7:16 p.m. A call came into the center about a potential poaching in Briley Township; officer and DNR responded. Investigation is ongoing.
9:14 p.m. Deputies responded to animals at large in Briley Township; owner of the animals came to get them back into the field. Subject was warned if it happens again they will be cited for this. Officers cleared without incident.
Aug. 14
2:05 a.m. Officers responded to a residential burglary alarm in Albert Township; the home was found to be secure. Deputy cleared without incident.
12:20 p.m. A dispute in Albert Township was reported to MCSO. A deputy responded to the scene, the male subject left the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
1 p.m. A seasonal resident called to report he saw a male subject on his security cameras on his property; a deputy responded; the subject had left the area.
1:04 p.m. A Deputy responded to a dispute in the Village of Hillman, the parties were separated prior to law enforcement arrival. The Deputy did speak with the complainant.
9:54 p.m. Deputies responded to a hit and run in Hillman Village; no one was injured. During the stop one of the officers located the vehicle that had struck the other vehicle; The driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested then later lodged at Alpena Jail. Deputies cleared without incident.
Aug. 15
4:25 a.m. A call came into the center from a female subject stating that there was a vehicle following her around in Hillman Township; the caller was advised to drive towards the MCSD. Officers met subject on the road and followed her back to her residence safely.
4:44 a.m. Deputies responded to a commercial alarm in Albert Township for a business; the building was found to be secure and officers cleared without incident.
2:56 p.m. A two-vehicle crash was reported by multiple 911 callers. MCSO deputies, DNR officers, Tri Township Fire and EMS all responded to the scene. Two victims were transported to the hospital for their injuries.
5:47 p.m. A male subject was injured while riding his ORV on a trail in Briley Township, DNR officers, MCSO officers, Tri Township Fire and EMS all responded to the scene, the male subject was transported to the hospital for his injuries.
9:10 p.m. Dispatch received a call for a fire in Hillman Township, Hillman Fire along with DNR and a Deputy responded to the residence. It was in fact contained upon arrival to the scene. No one was injured and all units cleared without incident.
10:25 p.m. Deputies responded to a panic alarm in Hillman Township; there was a dispute between neighbors. Parties were advised to leave each other alone. Officers cleared without incident.
