ALPENA -- An all-terrain vehicle driver landed in the hospital after his ATV went off the shoulder of North Point Shores Road north of Alpena on Tuesday. According to a passerby who found the driver shortly after the crash, the driver bled from the knee and complained of altered consciousness. Police did not know how the ATV left the road or whether it rolled before landing in nearby trees. Paramedics transported the driver to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.
