ALPENA — The Alpena Public Schools Board of Education and the Alpena Education Association have settled on a multi-year contract for all Alpena Public Schools teachers for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years, school administrators announced on Tuesday.

The new teacher agreement will allow teachers to start the school year with a multi-year contract that recognizes their hard work and allows them to focus on their teaching, Superintendent David Rabbideau said.

The new school year begins on Aug. 30 for Alpena schools, with the exception of Ella White, which will begin classes on Sept. 13.
