LINCOLN — The Alcona County Fair will continue as planned despite the company in charge of the carnival reducing its offerings.

Alcona County Fair Board Vice President Bill Thompson said the board, during an emergency meeting Monday morning, was notified by Clark’s Attractions officials that fairgoers wouldn’t have the rides they are typically accustomed to, and would be reducing its offerings to inflatable entertainment options instead.

Calls to Clark’s Attractions were not immediately returned.

“The company has had a snag and it’s out of our control at this point,” Thompson said, emphasizing the rest of the fair will continue as planned.

He said youth in the 4-H program will continue showing their animals and that all other entertainment, such as the tractor pulls and steak dinner, will continue as planned. He said vendors unrelated to the company, such as food vendors, will still be there.
