The 2021 Alpena Longbeards and Clem’s Bait and Tackle Turkey Contest winners received awards recently. Pictured below, from left to right, are Kurt Herriman of Clem’s Bait and Tackle, first-place winner Jamie Mott, and Tim Haske, Alpena Longbeards’ Turkey Club president. At right are Haske, second-place winner Gus Wirgau, and Herriman.

Mott’s turkey had a beard length of 9-3/4 inches, with 1-1/4-inch spurs, and Wirgau’s turkey had a beard length of 9-1/2 inches, with 1/2-inch spurs.

Winners were awarded cash prizes and plaques. The first-place winner and a guest are invited to the Longbeard Turkey Banquet on Sept. 11. For more information on the event, call Edith at 989-354-4964.
