ALPENA — Three members of the Alpena Community College women’s basketball team were recently honored for their play during the 2021 season.

Freshman Jade Schultz (Alpena) earned second team all-conference honors and was named the co-defensive player in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association’s North Conference. Schultz was also named to the conference’s all-defensive team.

In nearly 20 minutes of action per game, Schultz averaged 14.7 points and 9.9 rebounds.

Sophomores Lillian Black (East Jordan) and Mollie Girard (Alpena) both earned an honorable mention. Black averaged 4.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game and Girard averaged 8.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
