ALPENA — MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena reimplemented visitor restrictions starting today until further notice, according to hospital officials.

During the visitor restrictions, one healthy support person will be permitted with a pediatric patient, those in critical condition, or where it is determined the person is necessary for the provision of care.

Additionally, the Women’s Health Unit will allow one doula and one support person. The support person must be healthy and must be the same person throughout their stay. No children will be allowed.

Support persons for the Emergency Department and surgery patients will be asked to wait in their cars. The Medical Center staff will communicate information about the patient via a phone call to the identified support person.
