Responders assist a driver after her vehicle was hit during a two-car crash on 11th Avenue one block from the intersection at Chisholm Street in Alpena this afternoon. Traffic near the crash was diverted after a white car crashed into a black sport utility vehicle. The white car’s driver, who was transported to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena as a precaution, was ticketed for hitting the SUV as it paused in a line of cars waiting to turn onto Chisholm Street. The driver of the SUV was not injured. According to police, no other crashes have been reported on 11th Avenue or 9th Avenue since traffic on both streets increased with the ongoing construction closure of the Bagley Street Bridge earlier this month.
