ALPENA -- For Jeff and Jaime Whaley, Christmas is about spending time with their five children and one grandchild and making sure memories are made each year.
On Thursday, Jeff Whaley took time to answer five holiday questions for The News.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO MOST AT CHRISTMAS?
Buying presents for the kids and doing everything we can to make sure they have a great Christmas. Spending time with family is what the holidays are all about.
WILL THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AFFECT YOUR CELEBRATION THIS YEAR?
Yeah. We aren't all going to be getting together this year. We'll use phone calls and FaceTime to see and visit with each other. My wife's mom is a nurse, and she is going to drop off our Christmas dinner on our porch. I hope this is coming to an end soon.
WHAT CHRISTMAS TRADITION DO YOU HOPE YOUR CHILDREN CARRY ON?
Each year, the kids get ornaments, and we hope they get handed down to their kids and become family heirlooms.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MEMORIES FROM WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD?
Going to Grandma's, having dinner, and opening presents. Just spending the holiday with the family.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS GIFT YOU EVER RECEIVED?
It has to be when I got the original Nintendo. I wanted it really bad and loved the games. I played that thing a lot.
