Onaway student infected with virus
ONAWAY — Onaway Area Community Schools announced Sunday it is closing school Monday out of an abundance of caution after a student tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, and others who may be affected.
“We are closing to give ourselves time to work with the health department and figure out who is specifically affected,” Superintendent Rob Fullerton said in a statement. “Staff who have been directly affected have already been notified. We realize this is not ideal, and certainly not what we had planned, but we wanted to try to do what is best for our families.”
