ALPENA — The Alpena Police Department welcomed Officer David Belknap to its ranks on Monday.

Belknap, a 16-year veteran of police forces in Wayne County and Lincoln Park, a suburb of Detroit, served as a field training officer and a tactical officer on the regional emergency services team in Lincoln Park.

Belknap recently moved to Alpena with his wife and two children.

His wife, Jamie, was on hand at Belknap’s oath of office ceremony to present him with his APD badge.
