Health officials warn of virus exposure at Alpena stores

People at the following Alpena stores may have been exposed to the coronavirus, District Health Department No. 4 said today:

* Rite Aid, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday

* Meijer, from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Saturday

* Walmart, from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday or 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday

Anyone who may have been exposed should monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days from the exposure date. Anyone exhibiting symptoms should self-quarantine, report the symptoms to a doctor, and consider COVID-19 testing.

Testing is available at a drive-through event on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alpena County Fairgrounds, at Walgreens in Alpena, or by calling the Alcona Health Center at 989-356-4049, ext. 3832, or Thunder Bay Community Health Services at 989-733-6827.
